Operating PrinciplePellet type thermal cutoff--when ambient temperature of the thermal cutoff reaches to its operating temperature, the pellet melts, spring A expand, and move the slide contact away from lead A. Then, the electrical circuit is permanently cut off.- Temperature Sensing: The thermal fuse contains a thermistor pill inside. When the temperature reaches the set value, the pill melts or deforms.- Fusing Mechanism: After the pill melts, the internal mechanical structure disconnects the circuit and prevents the current from continuing to flow.- Disposable Use: Once the fuse is blown, it cannot be restored and must be replaced.
RY TypeRY thermal fuse adopts a metal shell with temperature-sensitive particles(Organic chemistry) as a temperature fuse sense element the struc-ture of temperature sensing material is energized, the internal impedance is small with cutoff current up to 6A to 15A(AC) specialty.
There are opening electrode, spring, sensitive particles in the metal case of RY thermal fuse. The barrel type spring is compressed to be installed into the case, it can contact the lead wire with the help of gasket, Under normal conditions, the electricity flows through the lead wire, opening electrode, metal case and rivet wire.
When the ambient temperature exceeds the operating temperature, the sensitive particles will melt by the heat from the lead wire. Under this condition, the opening spring will be pulled apart and the elastic force will push the electrode to the spring to cut the connection with lead wire.The current will be cut off as well.
